MESH: Creating an Accessible Fashion Community
Mesh is a young club that I started in my freshman year as a way to connect with other fashionable creatives and to create a space for fashion design on UW campus. Now that I’m in my senior year, I’m committed to making Mesh a space for beginners to access fashion resources, including physical spaces, networking opportunities, and professional careers.
What I learned
Leadership can be difficult, but it’s definitely not something I don’t enjoy. Leadership is not leadership without passion and hard work, and is nothing without collaboration, empathy, and community.
Advice for future applicants
Focus on what you can do for your community! I started Mesh with the personal motivation of finding people like me, but I’ve stayed and grown to want to make a better community for others!
