Project

Hardware-Software Codesign for Real-World Applications Using Custom Hardware Accelerators for Approximate Real Number Multiplication

I developed approximate and Iterative real number multipliers using the IEEE 754 and Posit number formats, and Implemented them on a Hardware-Software codesign platform with an ARM processor and programmable logic.

What I learned

I have learned much about the process of a real engineering project, I have learned to rely on mentors when I cannot come up with a great solution or need clarification, and I have learned how to actually use many of the skills I have acquired in classes.

Advice for future applicants

Learn everything you can from the project you participate in, listen to the advice that your mentor offers even if you think you know better, and don’t be afraid to let your own ideas be heard even if you think they won’t be useful.
