Project

RhizoPop: A Novel Phenotyping Platform for Cottonwood Roots and their Beneficial Microbes

RhizoPop investigates the relationship between Populus trichocarpa roots and its endophyte consortium. Novel flat-pot rhizotrons, imaging, data analysis, and modeling procedures are developed to better understand how Populus roots are affected by endophytes.

What I learned

I’ve learned a great deal about scientific processes like experimental design, collaboration, and scientific writing, and an even greater deal about my own passions, work ethic, and enjoyment of science.

Advice for future applicants
