Budget proposal

Propose a budget of up to $10,000 that fits your project and its timeline, using the provided template.

Community Investment funds can go toward a range of expenses directly related to carrying out your project. You'll complete a budget worksheet and a budget justification, proposing the budget and use of funds that makes the most sense for what you, your project, and your community are trying to accomplish. The award is based on the budget you propose, up to a maximum of $10,000, and can go toward the project itself and toward supporting the scholar(s) while carrying it out.

You have flexibility to shape the budget around your project's needs and its expected duration — from a minimum of three months to a maximum of eight — and it should align with your proposed time investment. Please use the Mary Gates Community Investment budget template, which includes examples and information on the use of funds. Scholars who are awarded will meet with MGE staff before the scholarship begins to confirm the budget and the team involved.
