Interviews
Interview invitations and information.
The review process can take up to eight weeks. If your application moves forward after the reading phase, you'll be contacted to schedule an interview with members of the committee, and you'll receive interview information materials beforehand. After the interview, we'll let you know whether you've been awarded a Mary Gates Leadership Scholarship.
In the interview, committee members will ask you to expand on your essay and project proposed.
Guiding questions to consider as you prepare for your interview:
- How do you plan to grow, and what do you need to learn, as a leader?
- Is this project something the community wants or needs?
- How are you planning to work with others on your project, and with your mentor?
- What do you hope to learn or gain from this project?
